We are currently seeking an Assistant Finance Manager to join the team in our Australian headquarters, based in Martin Place. As a part of the Finance team and reporting directly to the Finance Manager, you will effectively assist managing the finance function supporting nine stores in the Australian Market, one store in New Zealand and the Sydney office. 

 

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for helping to provide monthly, quarterly and annual financial information to management, local and statutory reporting and supporting the finance manager with all business initiatives. 

  • Daily sales, monthly financial reporting (in U.S. GAAP)
  • Tax reporting (both local and international)
  • Sarbanes-Oxley & internal audit compliance
  • Financial analysis, profit planning and forecasting (sales, expense, cash flow, balance sheet)
  • Liaise with Auditors (internal and external, Australian Taxation Office.)

 

In addition to the above, you will also be responsible for liaising and collaborating with local, corporate and regional offices to support the initiatives and efforts of the Company and managing and developing 3 direct reports.

To be considered for this role, you will have:

  • A college or university degree and CPA/CA qualified with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience
  • Local tax reporting (including income taxes, FBT, GST and payroll taxes etc.) and success in financial forecasting and planning.
  • Well presented, energetic, with strong communication, written and organization skills
  • A strong leader with the ability to inspire trust, integrity, fairness and have professionalism with both clients and colleagues.
  • Advanced in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word)
  • Experience with JD Edwards and U.S GAAP reporting
  • Retail industry experience is preferred but not essential.
